Period of Supply:- Continuous.

The above plant we submit is kept in good

order, as affecting the continuity of supply, and the safety

of the publie, and conforms to the B. 0. T. Regulations, as

cited under headings 1 and 3 in your communication, modified

however in a few exceptions as under:-

(1). In General Regulations 'A' Sub-heading

*Insulation test of all parts of any high pressure circuit". We submit that this regulation is quite unnecessar yas applied

to our Kowloon supply, and hold that our present mode of test, namely with a 1,000 velt 'Megger' is quite sufficient.

(2).

In General Regulations, Sub-heading

"Transformers". We hold that our present system of fusing of all apparatus wired to transformers, is a sound preventive against any high pressure currents reaching apparatus where such

apparatus is in public use.

We would point out, that our system in

Kowloon, as regards house services is exceptionally safe as regards shock, and risk of fire to buildings, as the maximumı pressure entering any house is 100 volts. Only in two cases is there high pressure apparatus fixed on buildings, and this has been wired to conform with the B. 0. T. Regulations bearing

on this point.

As regards heading No. 2 in your communica- -tion, we beg to point out that the regulations laid down as regards extra high pressure currents, do not apply to our system, as our maximum line pressure at any point is only

2,000 volts.
